Define Db2 LUW Permissions at Database Level

You can use the Db2 for LUW Permission Editor to add and define permissions at the database level in a Db2 physical model.

To define Db2 permissions

  1. Expand Permissions in the Model Explorer, right-click a Permission and select Properties.

    The Db2 for LUW Permission Editor opens.

  2. Select a permission and work with the following options:

    Note: Click New New icon in property editors to create a new object on the toolbar to create a permission. Use the Enter filter text text box to filter a large list of permissions to locate the one you want to work with.

    Name

    Specifies the name of the permission.

    With Grant

    Specifies that the user who has this permission can grant it to another user.

  3. Work with the following options on the Permissions tab:
    Permissions

    Specifies the permissions you want to grant. Select a check box to select the corresponding permission.

    Use the Select All (icon), Select None (icon), or Toggle Selection (icon) check boxes to select all the listed permissions, clear all selected permissions, and toggle permissions.

  4. Work with the following options on the Grant/Revoke tab:
    User IDs

    Specifies whether or not the permission is granted to the user ID. Select the check box to grant the permission.

    Database Roles

    Specifies whether or not the permission is granted to the database role. Select the check box to grant the permission.

    Use the User Editor (icon) and the Database Role Editor (icon) to select grant or revoke permissions.

  5. (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments that you want to associate with the object.
  6. (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the object.
  7. (Optional) Click the Notes tab to view and edit user notes.
  8. Click Close.

    The Db2 for LUW Permission Editor closes.
