MELVILLE, New York, May 14, 2018 – erwin, the data governance company, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Wendy Petty, erwin’s Senior Vice President of Field Sales and Services, to its prestigious 2018 Women of the Channel list. The executives who comprise this annual list span the IT channel, representing vendors, distributors, solution providers and other organizations that figure prominently in the channel ecosystem. Each is recognized for her outstanding leadership, vision and unique role in driving channel growth and innovation.
Petty is responsible for leading erwin’s global account sales organization and the pre-sales and professional services teams. As a long-time executive at multiple channel-oriented companies, Petty recognizes that working closely with the company’s global partner ecosystem is the fastest way to grow the business. She has spent more than 30 years building software startups and running enterprise software sales organizations. Before joining erwin last year, Petty held executive channel sales positions at Verizon Enterprise Solutions and CA Technologies.
“This accomplished group of leaders is steadily guiding the IT channel into a prosperous new era of services-led business models and deep, strategic partnerships,” said Bob Skelley, CEO of The Channel Company. “CRN’s 2018 Women of the Channel list honors executives who are driving channel progress through a number of achievements—exemplary partner programs, innovative product development and marketing, effective team-building, visionary leadership and accelerated sales growth—as well as advocacy for the next generation of women channel executives.”
“The channel is key to any company’s success, and partners are integral to in erwin’s sales strategy,” said Petty. “I’m thrilled to be on this list with the many other amazing women who are transforming the way that technology is delivered to today’s enterprises.”
Petty continued, “erwin provides an opportunity for partners to add value to their customers’ organizations by delivering solutions that enable them to respond effectively to complex data governance issues, including data security, privacy and regulatory pressures, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). But while Facebook and GDPR headlines certainly have elevated its profile, data governance goes beyond just risk management. It’s about understanding critical enterprise data within a business context, tracking its physical existence and lineage, and maximizing its security, quality and value.”
CRN editors select the Women of the Channel honorees based on their professional accomplishments, demonstrated expertise and ongoing dedication to the IT channel. The 2018 Women of the Channel list will be featured in the June issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.CRN.com/wotc.
