Filter Dangling Relationships from the Schema

You can filter dangling relationships from the schema.

To filter dangling relationships from the schema

  1. Click Subject Area on the Model menu to Open the Subject Area editor.
  2. Select a Subject Area on the Names list. On the General tab, select the Filter Dangling Relationships from Schema Generation check box.
  3. Click Close to close the Subject Area editor.
  4. When you are ready to generate the schema, choose Forward Engineer, Schema... on the Model menu.
  5. Click Generate in the Schema Generation Report dialog to generate the schema. Only the objects in the current subject area are references when you generate the schema statements that relate to foreign keys and triggers.

Note: When you select the Filter Dangling Relationship from Schema Generation option, attributes that migrate from tables outside of the subject area are still shown as foreign keys. This option has no effect on the graphical objects in the model, only the schema statements change.
